Join or host a community meeting – big or small – that brings together individuals of diverse backgrounds to learn about the experiences of those directly affected by hate. By centering those who have experienced hate crimes and hate incidents, we learn more about the effect of hate and the needs of those targeted. Use the meeting as an opportunity to learn from and provide support to fellow community members. Come to the meeting with a sense of some of the resources and support that you may be able to offer or identify now, but be prepared to learn about needs you may not have anticipated.
If you need assistance in finding a conversation near you let us know – e-mail NoHate@LawyersCommittee.org and we can connect you to organizations and communities working to combat hate. We can also connect you with resources to help you find concrete ways to support communities targeted for hate.
