About The Hotline

The Lawyers’ Committee has run an Election Protection Hotline for over a decade, providing resources and assistance to callers ahead of and on Election Day. Building on this expertise, the Lawyers’ Committee launched a resource and reporting hotline for hate incidents: 1-844-9-NO-HATE (1-844-966-4283).

Hours

The Stop Hate Hotline is live from 10AM – 5PM EST Monday – Friday except on holidays. At all other times, a caller will be prompted to leave a voicemail. A trained volunteer will return the call within 24 – 48 hours. A brief intake call will be conducted, followed by resources that can be provided to the caller in their time of need.

Online Reporting Form

The Communities Against Hate Initiative, led by The Leadership Conference Education Fund and Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, is a diverse coalition of organizations that have come together for the fist time across communities to document hate and demand action. The online reporting form can be found here and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Resources Provided

Individuals and organizations that call the hotline receive resources they need as we leverage our national network of pro bono attorneys, connect callers and individuals targeted by hate to community organizations, mental health services, and in appropriate cases, provide access to counsel.

In addition to the resources on this site, resources provided have included template letters to make sure undocumented students are admitted to school, support for reaching out to and training law enforcement, and connecting callers with local and national civil rights and service organizations.
